Collaborations with Manolo Blahnik, the God of shoes?

For anyone who is into Sex And The City, you will be familiar with the sentiment that while Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte's style and wardrobe remains firmly planted in the decade of the making of the show, the 90's, Carrie seems to transcend all time with her style.

We all know that the centrepiece of the show was Carrie's obsession with shoes (not unlike my own, but with a much bigger budget/creditcard) centred around Manolo Blahnik. I might not be forgiven for saying this, but I'm really not a Manolo fan... I don't like pointy shoes, and that is definitely his signature look, and I generally don't like dressy strappy sandals. So when I saw some collaborations featured in Elle, I had to look twice. I liked them!

Rag and Bone, popular for their masculinity in womenswear applied this to a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, a black and white pump, with a short pointy toe, very tuxedo and very nice.

Similarly Band Of Outsiders, a menswear label also worked with Manolo Blahnik to produce what he calls a 'more approachable' shoe, that isn't so serious, more fun. A black and white (is there a theme?) lace up high heel bootie, quite delightful.

I'm not sure if anyone else has any opinion on this but it seems to me like a PR exercise to gain a bit more modern credibility for an outdated brand.

Having said all that, the Mary Jane's in the Vogue closet were pretty special...

My obsession with bows

I've always been obsessed with bows, read here how much so but now I see Topshop shares my obsession.

I love this fashion forecast by Topshop, and I bought that red tartan waistcoat without seeing this article!!

I hope it doesn't become too much overdone, but really it is my signature look.

Some people like lightning bolts, some people like animals, what do you like, what is your signature motif?

Shopping In London

I'm completely in heaven. Shoe Heaven.

Yet another copy of the Gucci shoe. Today I held the real one in my hands and I decided mine definitely wins. HA.

Anyway London is full of them, I still think the style is absolutely heavenly.

Recent Purchases

in purple and maybe I will buy grey too

Should I buy?

Nice but I'll give it a miss

Eastern Europeans are known for their sometimes tacky sense of style, but usually it's old grannies and not the young ones.

Recently in Poland and Czech Republic I noticed a complete domination of yellow on the streets, in the form mostly of yellow shoes. Peculiar I thought?

Personally I'm not into yellow mainly because it makes my blonde hair brassy and my pale complexion a shade of green. But the more olive types can definitely rock the colour, but in terms of shoes, where do we draw the line?

I like bright shoes and with an all black outfit I think yellow can work anytime (just watch out looking like a bumblebee!).

However, the combination of this far out colour and the humble croc, only spells disaster to me.

What do you think?

I wasn't expecting to find great quality leather shoes in Stockholm!
Go to Gamla Stan, the old town and search for this beauty!!
