A man in Florence, in a shop called Mondo Albion makes these wonderful shoes and boots. Very "Boogie Nights", they are bright with multiple colours and interesting shapes. My Italian was a bit sketchy, but I managed to extract that he'd been making shoes for 60 years and that he'd had this shop for a lot of that time.

My newest purchase
I bought these shoes from Celyn B. A Milan based Italian designer label. The shop was absolutely wonderful and I had to choose between shoes or a dress. Of course, the shoes won.
They are a copy of a Gucci shoe, but I think maybe better because of the Gold chain across the toe.

A bit amiss
My apologies for not posting much lately. Unfortunately I am restricted by the hostel internet security and photos are a no go.
I will post more in the next few days, plenty to say, and show!!!

Europe
A few comments on where I am, I am in Italy at this moment! I have begun my European adventure and will travel for the next three months, solo, around Europe. Missing terribly my boyfriend and my warm bed plus my dearest friends, I journey to Rome after the first week with family in our home town of Pescara. Pescara, a seaside town of boutiques is on the Adriatic coast and is a haven for Italians, not your average tourists. Unfortunately as mentioned yesterday, their fashion styles are sheepish and not unique. I stand out like a sore thumb wearing a printed skirt, trench coat and red shoes, among the black leather jackets, jeans and runners. Nothing wrong with that as an outfit, but on everyone?

After Pescara, I journey in order to
- Rome
- Florence
- Venice
- Milan
- Nice & St Tropez
- Toulouse
- Barcelona
- Tour of Spain ending in the party island of Ibiza
- Paris
- Amsterdam
- Berlin
- Stockholm
- London
- Home to Melbourne
A long and exciting trip, should you have any recommendations, email me!!
Italians and their shoes
Italians are really split in terms of style; there are the stylish and leaders and then there are the sheep or followers. Unfortunately in my family town of Pescara, I mostly encounter the sheep. Leather jackets, jeans and runners are the norm.
I managed to find many a nice boutique (Pescara is the city of boutiques) and have taken some photos for you to peruse.
